Hello from the UK.

Please can you confirm if my order has been sent? A rough idea of a delivery date should be much appreciated.

Cheers

John Bohrer at Winsome Games and I have been talking a fair bit lately, and not about fun stuff like how your games are winging their ways to you. In short there was a screw-up at his bank. For whatever reason his bank thought my cheque bounced, my bank said the cheque cleared, his bank said "Oh no it didn't!", my bank quite predictably said, "Oh yes it did!" and the general intelligence level of the conversation from there only increased -- just like in all the best Punch & Judy shows. While it isn't very funny, not really, I've had half a dozen phone conversations with various officials at my bank, most of which can be fully summarised in the two sentences, "Huh?" and "They did what?" John tells me that the conversations his bank have been similarly philosophically impressive. Meanwhile during this period of confusion the boxes of games were sent, recalled, recovered, and have now been re-sent. I'm sure they're dizzy.

I'm sorry. We had no idea.

The games should be here in 3 days, or so says the US Postal Service, and I have nice pretty URLs to track the three boxes as they wend their ways across the countryside.

My social calendar is seasonally crowded. This coming weekend is Thanksgiving weekend and next weekend has my son's birthday party. I'll do what I can to get them shipped out quickly but the timing is no longer as good as it was. Again, I'm sorry. I'll update this and the other related threads if/as there are updates.

Winsome Games has kindly offered to send out the Essen Collection to USA buyers directly rather than having to send them here and me send them out in turn. I've gratefully accepted John's offer. The games for USA customers shipped today! The games for foreign orders should be here Real Soon Now (an official technical term of the US Postal Service) and I'll get them sent out overseas PDQ (Pretty Damn Quick, an official term of the J C Lawrence house).

John tells me that the games should arrive here next week. If all goes perfectly I'll ship them out on the weekend of the 15th. If the world is yet again imperfect the weekend of the 22nd may be more likely. I'll try hard for the 15th.

The order line is now closed. 64 of 100 copies were sold. It is possible that the additional 36 copies will be available in some manner later.

I will be closing the order line for the Winsome Games' 2008 Essen Collection in a few days. By rough estimation I'll have the games by the second week of November and will be shipping them out then.

[...]The set costs $130 and isn’t available in pieces, except for Wabash Cannonball: Erie Railroad, which will have a separate small print run in 2009. Orders are being handled by J C Lawrence, who is paying a marketplace commission to BoardGameGeek. For shipping costs or to order, head to this post on Lawrence’s blog.
